President's Day 09 at the Homestead

What a view of the VAlley, Wailuku and Kahului, the harbor. It's hardly work went considering the beautiful place that we live in. Nalu and Malia's Homestead is one that we all look forward and coming to. The only other view that equals this one is the sight of the West Maui Mountains with the windmills and the fantastic ocean vista that surrounds this beautiful island home, Maui...........

This work is a real joy when you stop and take a moment to observe the scenery and look around you. Hard to beat this view of the West Maui Mountains and Maalaea.

No small project planting grass on the hillside behind the house..

Ladies planting grass for erosion control.

Grandma was a like a well oiled machine..........Or everyready battery........

Talk about multi-tasking. This group had it going all day long.

Nalu's crew standing thet walls....

It's a team effort............

Let's go play with the dogs............

One......Two ..........Three...............LIFTTTTTTTTTTT.........

Boy, this is heavier than it looks..............

Grunt, aghhhhh, ooooofffff.........

The Crew.............

The "inspector" was everywhere checking the progress.

Kamalei with his serious look.

Kailea and Kalena resting in the tent. It's been a long day.

Kamalei checking out Grandpa.

Coming in for a closer look see.

Kainalu with the "Green thumb." Planting the onions and doing an admirable job.

Planting the garden.

Admiring their hard work. Another project on it's way.

Finally done for the day's framing. It's a growing project.

End of a beautiful day the sunset was lighting up the forest as we were winding down.

You captured it!! That was one of the best days ever. Thanks for all of your kokua. It was a blast with the family there to share in the load and support. Not to mention the beautiful surroundings! Loved your post. I need to get my act together and send you the pics I took with you in them! Thanks Grandpa.

Everything looks great...the house - it looks as big or small as our house...the garden- awesome! The soil is nice and dark but I don't think we saw any strawberries!? And great family effort!
